What the LSMC10M-SP Is
The Live Electrical LSMC10M-SP is a 10-way empty metal consumer unit with 7 useable circuit ways, a pre-fitted 100A double pole main switch and a pre-fitted 20/40kA double pole SPD. At £46.60 + VAT it is the entry point of the Live Electrical metal consumer unit range at Harbro - a smaller, empty enclosure where the installer selects and fits the circuit protective devices to match the installation design.
No MCBs or RCBOs are included. The 7 useable ways are available for single module Live Electrical AMR B-030 Type A RCBOs, FuseBox MCBs or other compatible single module devices. This is the board for installs where a specific circuit configuration is required - flats, studio apartments, annexes and smaller houses where 7 circuits cover the design, and where the contractor wants to specify the RCBO mix from scratch rather than work around a pre-loaded configuration.
The metal construction satisfies BS 7671:2018 Amendment 3 (non-combustible enclosure for domestic installations). The pre-fitted 20/40kA SPD satisfies Amendment 2 (surge protection). Both regulatory requirements are met without separate purchases. The enclosure measures 244mm wide, 35mm narrower than the 14-way LSMC14M-SP, which matters where the designated consumer unit location has limited wall space.

Which RCBOs and MCBs to Fit in the LSMC10M-SP
The 7 useable ways accept single module devices. Most new domestic installations are now specified with Type A RCBOs throughout for full Amendment 2 compliance and compatibility with electronic loads.
Lighting circuits
AMR B-030 Type A 30mA B Curve RCBOs for all 7 ways. 6A to 40A in stock at Harbro.
6A or 10A Type A RCBO. 6A is standard for most domestic lighting; 10A where cable rating and design current warrant a higher rating. Use AMR106B-030 (6A) or AMR110B-030 (10A).
Ring main and socket circuits
16A or 32A Type A RCBO. 32A is the standard for a ring final circuit protected to BS 7671. 16A for radial socket circuits. Use AMR116B-030 (16A) or AMR132B-030 (32A).
EV charger circuits
32A Type A RCBO for a standard 7kW EV charger. BS 7671 Amendment 2 requires Type A protection on EV charger circuits. Use AMR132B-030 (32A).
Cooker and higher-load circuits
32A or 40A depending on the design. For a 40A circuit, use AMR140B-030 (40A). Verify cable rating and design current before selecting amperage.
Shower circuits
Typically 32A to 40A depending on the shower kW rating and circuit design. BS 7671 requires 30mA RCD protection for shower circuits. Use a Type A RCBO at the appropriate amperage.
Dedicated appliance circuits
20A for some cooker circuits, washing machines or other dedicated appliance connections. Use AMR120B-030 (20A).
All Live Electrical AMR B-030 Type A RCBOs are available individually from Harbro at £8.19 + VAT. Always size to the design current after applying diversity, within the cable rating. Refer to BS 7671 for the full device selection requirements.
