A battery doorbell is a doorbell system where both the outdoor push button and the indoor chime run on batteries - no cable run between them and no mains connection required at either unit. The Knightsbridge DC010 is a complete battery doorbell kit: the push button runs on a 12V 23A battery (included) and the chime receiver runs on 3 x AAA batteries (not included). Installation requires no electrician and no cable work - mount the push, insert batteries, pair the units and the battery doorbell is operational.

The DC010 bell push requires 1 x 12V 23A battery, which is included in the kit. The chime receiver requires 3 x AAA batteries, which are not included. Both are standard battery types. The 23A (also called LRV08, A23 or MN21) is a small cylindrical battery commonly used in remote controls and is available from electrical and hardware stores. Pick up a set of AAA batteries at the same time when ordering the kit.

The DC010 has a working range of approximately 150 to 200 metres, dependent on the environment. In open air with no obstructions, this full range is typically achievable. Through walls and floors the effective range is reduced. For most domestic properties - including the distance from front door to any room inside the house - the range is more than adequate. The 433MHz learning code also prevents interference from neighbouring wireless devices on the same frequency.

Yes. The DC010 system is expandable. Additional chime receivers can be paired to the same push button to cover more rooms or floors - useful in a large property where a single chime cannot be heard throughout the building. Additional push buttons can also be paired to the same receiver for properties with more than one entrance. Both the DC012 (Black plug-in chime) and DC013 (White plug-in chime) at Harbro can be added as additional plug-in receivers.

The DC010 has 58 selectable ringtones. Use the tone selector button on the chime receiver to cycle through the available options - press the bell push to hear each one as you go. Volume is adjusted separately on the receiver, up to a maximum of 110dB. The visual LED alert activates alongside the ringtone whenever the push is pressed.

Yes. The DC010 bell push is rated IP55 - protected against dust ingress and against water jets from any direction. It is suitable for mounting directly outdoors at the front door, on a gate post or on an exterior wall in all typical UK weather conditions. The chime receiver is IP44, making it suitable for indoor use including damp locations such as a hallway, garage or utility room.

The DC010 is a battery doorbell focused entirely on its core function: alerting the occupant when someone presses the push. No camera, no Wi-Fi, no app, no subscription. A video doorbell adds a camera, two-way audio, motion detection and smartphone notifications - but also requires Wi-Fi, a smartphone and ongoing network connectivity.
