TiOC stands for Three-in-One Camera: a camera that combines full-colour imaging, active deterrence and a siren in a single unit. The TiOC-Lite is Dahua's mid-range active deterrence camera. When a human or vehicle enters a configured detection zone, it triggers a warm white light flash and an audible alarm simultaneously, without any manual intervention. This is designed to interrupt an incident rather than simply record it. The TiOC-Lite records at 8MP / 4K, which is the highest resolution in the Harbro Dahua camera range.

When SMD Plus AI classifies a detection event as human or vehicle within a configured zone, the camera simultaneously activates its warm white light and emits an audible alarm from the built-in speaker. Both responses trigger automatically, without any remote action required from the installer or end user. The deterrence can be configured to activate only within specific zones, during specific time periods, or for specific target types (human only, vehicle only, or both). A one-tap disarming function allows quick deactivation when needed.

Yes. The DH-IPC-HDW2849TMP has both a built-in microphone and a built-in speaker. From the DMSS mobile app or compatible Eagle AI NVR, you can listen to audio at the camera location and speak through the camera's speaker. This allows direct communication through the camera - for example, to address a delivery driver, speak to a visitor at a gate, or verbally challenge an intruder. Two-way audio requires the NVR to be connected to a broadband router for remote access.

SMD Plus (Smart Motion Detection Plus) is Dahua's AI classification system. It analyses every motion event detected by the camera and determines whether the motion is caused by a human, a vehicle, or an irrelevant source such as an animal, a moving branch, or a change in lighting. Only events classified as human or vehicle trigger recording alerts and deterrence activations. This significantly reduces false alarms versus standard pixel-change motion detection, which triggers on any scene change.

The DH-IPC-HDW2849TMP records at 8MP (3840 x 2160), which is 4K resolution. This is the highest-resolution camera in the Harbro Dahua range - four times the pixel count of a standard 1080p (2MP) camera. The increased resolution is particularly useful for reading vehicle number plates and identifying individuals in footage that will be reviewed after an incident. H.265+ compression is used to reduce storage requirements without sacrificing image quality.

The TiOC-Lite deters using a warm white light flash and sound alarm, records at 8MP / 4K, and uses SMD Plus AI. The TiOC Pro deters using red and blue strobe lights, a louder siren and customisable voice prompts, uses a larger 1/1.8-inch sensor with a 110-degree wide-angle view, dual microphones and SMD 4.0 AI. The TiOC Pro records at 6MP (3840 x 2160). For maximum deterrence impact and wider coverage, the TiOC Pro is the stronger choice. For highest resolution in the range, the TiOC-Lite's 8MP sensor is the advantage.

Yes. The deterrence schedule can be configured to activate only during specific time periods, for example from 10pm to 6am or only on weekdays. The perimeter protection zones can be defined so only a specific area of the camera's view triggers deterrence. The one-tap disarming function in the NVR interface or DMSS app allows quick temporary deactivation. The camera will continue to record all motion events according to the recording schedule regardless of the deterrence configuration.
